Creativity and Special Moments at Manor Community

There has been plenty happening recently within one of our lovely Manor Community homes, with residents enjoying a variety of meaningful activities, community events and special celebrations that bring people together and create lasting memories.

One recent highlight was our Wear It Blue fundraising day in support of St Peter's Hospice. Residents and staff embraced the theme, with blue decorations, blue-themed refreshments and plenty of fun activities throughout the day. The event was a wonderful opportunity to support an important local charity while spending quality time together as a community.

The day was made even more special as it was combined with a birthday celebration for one of our residents. The team went above and beyond to ensure the day felt truly personal, organising presents, karaoke, decorations and lots of opportunities to celebrate. The impact of the surprise was clear when the resident said, "I didn't know this was all for me." It was a touching moment that reminded everyone how meaningful it can be to make someone feel valued, recognised and celebrated.

Residents have also been enjoying a range of seasonal activities as autumn gets underway. A recent autumn-themed event brought together people from across services to enjoy a creative afternoon of crafting. Residents collected colourful leaves to create beautiful stained-glass-style window displays and made hanging owl decorations to take home. With hot chocolate, biscuits and plenty of conversation, the event was a fantastic way to welcome the season and encourage social connection.

Beyond organised events, residents continue to enjoy activities tailored to their individual interests, including bowling, swimming and visits to local parks to see the animals. These opportunities support independence, wellbeing and personal choice, ensuring everyone can spend their time doing the things they enjoy most.

Looking ahead, there is even more to be excited about. Pumpkin decorating activities are planned for the coming weeks, alongside creative seasonal events and carefully considered celebrations around Bonfire Night. The team is working hard to ensure activities meet the individual needs and preferences of residents, creating experiences that are enjoyable, inclusive and accessible for everyone.

At Manor Community, it's often the simple moments that make the biggest difference. Whether it's celebrating a birthday, supporting a local charity, enjoying a day out or getting creative with friends, every activity is centred around helping people live fulfilling, meaningful and happy lives. We are incredibly proud of our dedicated teams who continue to create these special moments every day.
